Listed below is information on several support groups and activities in the Augusta area.

Augusta Area Support Group

When:  The group typically meets monthly on the last Tuesday of the month.  

Group Description: Are you looking for resources? Would you like to know how other parents get services and cope with raising a child with special needs? Come join us for a casual time of talking, sharing, and laughing! It's not just about support, it's also information! This support group is sponsored by Parent to Parent of GA and the Babies Can't Wait Early Intervention Program.

Where the Support Group Meets:  Warren Baptist Church, Classroom C103A, 3203 Washington Road, Augusta, Georgia. (Park in back parking lot; take right hall inside entrance.)

Other Augusta Area Activities:

PROs for the Community 

A parent-driven organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for families of children with developmental disabilities/special needs in the Augusta area by providing information, training, and resources.  PRO aims to provide the necessary tools to obtain quality services and opportunities in the community.  PRO is a training and resource service for families.  Workshops and individualized training will be provided.

Information:  on general disability issues, special education law, disability law, inclusion in school, and inclusion in community activities.
Training:  on IDEA, ADA, Ga. Medicaid programs, and Life planning
Resources: on  specific disabilities; local, state, and national organizations & websites, and special events.

Project Link Lecture Series 
Medical College of Georgia, Children's Medical Center, Augusta, GA

Monthly lecture series is held in the CMC Conference Center (first floor of the Children's Medical Center on Harper Street, Augusta, GA) from 6:30-8:00pm.  These sessions are free and open to the public.

CCASE (Columbia County Advocates for Special Education):  

CCASE is a Special Education PTO for Columbia County.  If you have a child receiving special education services in Columbia County, you are encouraged to join the PTO at your child's school but it is also very beneficial to become involved in the Special Education PTO. It's a great place to learn more about your child's education, the professionals who work with your child and the other parents!  Meetings are held regularly.
