Recipients who are Eligible for Private Insurance |
HIPP
(Health Insurance Premium Payment): A program where the Department of Medical Assistance (DMA) pays for
the cost of your private health insurance premiums. It is available to Medicaid eligible recipients (Medicaid,
Medicaid with SSI or Deeming Waiver) if the DMA determines it is
more cost-effective to pay for private insurance instead of
having Medicaid pay all the bills.
It can benefit the entire family if a family insurance plan
is found to be more cost-effective.
