Recreation and Camps

Children with special needs have many demands on their time that preclude them from being able to experience what society believes is a “normal” childhood. These demands on their time can include but not be limited to Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy, doctor’s appointments in many numerous disciplines, brace fitting appointments, tutoring, etc. Special needs children long to be able to participate like all other children in summer camps, sports and recreational activities. In fact, these activities can be crucial to the development of strong social relationships, an increase in self-confidence, help boost physical strength abilities and give them an overall sense of well-being. Often parents of children with special needs have many more issues to consider when choosing a camp, sports or recreational activities. The information below may help you in selecting the right program for your child.
